Mrs. Sera Ferrera grew up in Bend, Oregon before attending the University of Idaho where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology prior to obtaining her teaching certificate. Before teaching at New Way, Mrs. Ferrera taught at Lexis Preparatory as the 3rd and 4th grade teacher. She also previously worked as the Special Education Assistant, Teaching Fellow, and 4th grade history teacher at a charter school in Scottsdale. Mrs. Ferrera has always been passionate about inspiring and engaging her students in learning. She is thrilled to be a part of the New Way family and is excited to create an interactive and supportive classroom for her students.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Ferrera enjoys spending time with family and friends. She especially loves to play with her cat and dog, Yoshi and Hades. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, kayaking, reading, baking, swimming, and attending sporting events.
