Trinette Johnson

READING SPECIALIST

Mrs. Trinette Johnson grew up in the small town of Harrah, Oklahoma. She enjoyed performing in community productions, singing in choirs, and playing the oboe and clarinet in the high school band.  After moving to Cleveland, Tennessee to attend Lee University, Mrs. Johnson traveled with the Lee University Singers. Several years of travel throughout the United States as well as an amazing international trip inspired Trinette’s love of travel.

Mrs. Johnson graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and began teaching 1st grade in Mesa, Arizona. She also enjoyed teaching drama, English, and reading to junior high students in Mesa as well. Finding great fulfillment in teaching reading led to a career focus on reading instruction beginning as a reading specialist in Gilbert. Mrs. Johnson became a Wilson Dyslexia Therapist after becoming Wilson Level 2 Certified in 2015. Working as an instructional coach assisting other teachers with the Wilson knowledge in reading had also been a rewarding job direction before coming to New Way.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Johnson loves spending time with her family (including several adorable grandchildren), traveling, singing, snorkeling, and playing Settlers of Catan.
