Steven Campanelli

HEAD OF LOWER SCHOOL

Mr. Campanelli was born and raised in New York City, and spent the first half of his adult life in the performing arts industry, dividing his time between the east and west coasts. In 2000, he decided to make a switch to pursue the field of education, another great passion, and he hasn’t looked back since!

Mr. Campanelli, also known as Mr.C, graduated from California State University with a BA degree in Education (Linguistics), and then obtained a Masters in Education (Language, Diversity, Leadership) from American College of Education.

Prior to moving to Arizona, he spent ten years working at an independent school in Southern California where he taught and worked in curriculum development and Diversity-Equity-Inclusivity (DEI). He then continued to enjoy teaching as well as moving into a Director of Performing Arts position after coming to Arizona in 2010.  Mr.C is very excited to be a part of the New Way community, since 2019, alongside talented, committed  colleagues, and awesome students and their families. When not working, Mr. C enjoys spending time with his family (including the furry four-legged members!) and traveling at EVERY possible opportunity.
