Hunter Lines
HEAD OF JUNIOR HIGH
Mr. Hunter Lines has always valued the relationship between teaching and learning. Born and raised in Lancaster, California, Mr. Lines attended a small, private school for junior high and high school and has since felt connected to the intimate environment associated with small class sizes. Mr. Lines moved to Phoenix in 2013 where he obtained a degree in Education from Grand Canyon University in 2016 and immediately entered the classroom thereafter. Following an unexpected school closure in 2020, Mr. Lines was brought to New Way Academy and instantly felt at home with his fellow bulldogs.
In his time at New Way, Mr. Lines has taught Junior High Writing, Mathematics, Health and Wellness, and STEM, and he has been involved in several afterschool clubs and extracurriculars such as Pokemon Club and New Way’s theater program. He enjoys learning about what motivates students to be their best and using that to develop character and positive habits within students. Mr. Lines also heads the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) program at New Way and is energized by stocking the student Pride Store with redeemable prizes and experiences. Mr. Lines strives to meet students with the same effort, dedication, and respect that he expects from them.
In his free time, Mr. Lines enjoys hiking, playing board games, and spending time with his pet rabbit, Ororo. He also enjoys learning about different cultures through travel and food–his favorite type of food is Indian, and his dream travel destination is New Zealand.
