Deborah Fash

DIRECTOR OF SPEECH TESTING & DIAGNOSTICS

As the Director of Speech Testing and Diagnostics at New Way, Mrs. Fash provides speech, language, and reading evaluations and assists in considering student language and communication needs.

Mrs. Fash holds a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Speech and Language Pathology from Washington State University. She is licensed to provide speech-language pathology services in Arizona, and maintains national certification through the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. She is also certified by the Arizona State Department of Education, and completed Wilson Reading Program certification. Mrs. Fash previously served on the Board of Directors for the Arizona branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and presented at conferences of the Arizona IDA as well as the Arizona Association of Independent Schools.

Mrs. Fash completed Lindamood Bell Corporation training in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program (LIPS), Seeing Stars, Visualizing Verbalizing, and Talkies programs. She regularly attends workshops related to a diverse range of speech and language disorders, including pragmatic language.

Mrs. Fash has practiced speech pathology in a variety of medical and educational settings but has served the children of New Way Academy since 1994. Outside of school, Mrs. Fash enjoys hiking, reading, and discovering the joys of being a grandma.
