Nicki Dumanski is an almost Phoenix native, moving here before she could walk. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and is finishing a Masters of Education in Leadership and Instruction at ASU. English and teaching are her passions. Spending 15 years in northeast Ohio, Nicki became a certified educator in early childhood education, studying early brain development. Her love of language led her to become an editor for a law publishing company in Ohio, spending her extra time teaching ESL to adults and children, volunteering in intensive reading clinics in public schools and raising a family. A move home to Phoenix brought her into the classroom again, first tutoring students with learning differences and then into a high needs middle school language arts and writing classroom.
New Way Academy is has been a life changing part of her family. Nicki’s nephew, a New Way alumnus, continues to thrive from the compassionate education and inclusive culture he was a part of. Nicki believes that it is in New Way’s mission that confidence and joy are imparted on every student who attends. Off campus, she enjoys watching New Way teams, finding her Zen in the kitchen, reading, and relishing time with her two children, extended family and furry companion, Bart.
