Our high school teachers support the school’s mission to educate children with learning differences to fulfill their potential. New Way Academy is an independent, K-12 day school in Phoenix, Arizona. Our mission is to create a dynamic school experience that empowers children with learning differences to maximize their potential and prepare for life beyond our doors. We continually strive to provide exemplary instruction, state-of-the-art remediation for areas of challenge, optimal social experiences, and the opportunity to unlock strengths and talents. - Deliver instruction to classes of up to 12 students in the subject area assigned, adapting curriculum to meet the needs of each group throughout the day
- Differentiate instruction to remediate what students need to learn and push them to rigorous content understanding
- Integrate best practices by providing students with accommodations and modifications based on their learning needs
- Maintain and utilize accurate and up-to-date data regarding student achievement
- Empower students through high expectations, consistent routines, and strategies for success
- Contribute to the drafting of each student’s quarterly report outlining their academic and social progress
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with parents, students, and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with the other level and content teams

- Holds valid and up-to-date teaching certificate in Arizona
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a preferred emphasis on special education
- Previous teaching experience, preferably at a high school level
