Lower School Reading Teacher

 Our Lower School part time reading teacher (grades 3rd through 6th) adheres to the school’s mission to educate children with learning differences to fulfill their potential. Responsibilities Include:

  • Help to develop/adapt curriculum specialized to student needs for our lower school reading students 
  • Differentiate instruction to meet students’ need for support with reading in the area of phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and reading fluency
  • Maintain and utilize accurate and up-to-date data regarding student achievement
  • Empower students through high expectations, consistent routines, and strategies for success
  • Contribute to the drafting of each student’s IEP or similar student plan 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with parents, students and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with the other level and content teams

Education, Certificate and License Requirements: 

  • Hold valid fingerprint clearance card
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a preferred emphasis on special education
  • Previous reading  teacher experience
