Ms. Johnson was born and raised in New Hampshire and graduated with her BS in Psychology from Husson University in Bangor, Maine. In 2017, she moved to Dallas to serve in City Year Americorps for two years as an in-class tutor and after school event coordinator at a high school. After City Year, Ms. J earned her Master’s in Education from Relay GSE and taught middle school math for five years in Title I schools in DFW Metroplex. After the 2023-2024 school year, Ms. J moved to Phoenix. Before finding New Way, she took a year off from teaching and was a Registered Behavior Tech.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. J enjoys live music/events, reading, hiking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her friends, animals, and loved ones.
