Brittany Roman

READING SPECIALIST

Mrs. Brittany Roman joined the New Way family in 2015.  She grew up in a small town on the central coast of California and attended Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, graduating in 2007 with her education degree and certification for Elementary Education. After graduating, she moved to Washington, DC to teach in our nation’s capital. She taught 4th grade and reading for four years before obtaining her masters’ degree from Marygrove College in Reading & Literacy.

Mrs. Roman was then offered an opportunity that combined her passion for teaching and love of travel. She moved to Rwanda, in the heart of Africa, to train teachers and support local schools. She lived in Rwanda for 2 years before settling in Phoenix.

Mrs. Roman loves teaching students using the Wilson Reading System, as well as inspiring students using a variety of literature.  She completed her Wilson certification in 2017.

When not at school, Mrs. Roman can be found spending time with her husband, Jesse, and two daughters, Isabelle and Everly. She loves getting outdoors to bike or hike in Flagstaff or curling up with a mug of apple cider while reading a good book. She still has a passion for traveling, both internationally and back to her hometown in California.
