Engage Your Brain this Summer!

For students not currently enrolled at New Way Academy, please provide current school records, including an Individual Education Plan (IEP) if applicable, and copies of all diagnostic evaluations with your application. They can be emailed to admissions@newwayacademy.org.

K – 8th: Academic BOOST! Program – Full Brochure

Our summer program is designed to offer students a perfect blend between academics and fun. Every Monday through Thursday, students will arrive on campus ready to focus on the most important areas of academic need. On Monday through Wednesday, age-appropriate, small group instruction will be led by experienced special educators. Subjects covered: math, reading comprehension, structured phonics, and writing, with the optional addition(s) of speech-language therapy and occupational therapy.

Each Thursday, as a conclusion to our week, students will engage in some serious adventure! A complete list of the adventures that await our kindergarten through 8th grade students are listed below.

On Campus Adventures

June 8th | Alyssa Johnson & Dance
This summer, our program will feature special beginner-level hip-hop master classes with Ms. Alyssa. Ms. Alyssa is an elite choreographer in the competitive dance world and is extremely talented when it comes to working with our students. The class will be a fun way to get those bodies moving during the summer months!.

June 15th | Adam Brooks
No one knows kids better than public speaker Adam Brooks! Adam has been a part of the New Way family for the last couple of years using his humor and down to earth, conversation-style of speaking to enlighten our students and staf on topics such as social media and internet safety. This summer he’ll be talking to our students about building positive relationships.

June 22nd | Codakid
CodaKid is a local kids coding and tech academy and camp that teaches kids of all ages to create games,
apps, and Minecraft mods using real programming languages and professional tools. Since 2016 CodaKid has taught nearly 10,000 students to code in 15 countries and growing. CodaKid provides the highest level of kids’ coding instruction available in the market with a fun, student centered approach and small group attention.

June 29th | Jungle Jill
Jungle Jill will bring live and exotic animals to our students for an up-close and interactive experience. It’s a special opportunity to not only learn all about these amazing turtles, snakes and lizards from a well educated zoologist but to also touch them!

Field Trip Adventures

July 6th | Pump it Up
Our students will love a getaway fild trip to “Pump It Up” bounce house in Tempe. They’ll be jumping, bouncing, running through obstacle courses, and playing games in their own private, secure arenas. We’ll end our adventure with a big pizza celebration!

Each Thursday, as a conclusion to our week, students will engage in some serious adventure (different from the K-8 experiences – a list is coming soon)!

COMMUNITY COLLEGE – Full Brochure

New Way’s 2017–2018 seniors, new graduates, and alumni are invited to participate in a unique summer school program supporting community college exploration and experience in partnership with Scottsdale Community College (SCC). Starting May 30th through June 29th, students will enroll in a community college math course. Monday through Thursday, students attend class from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm. After class they will be transported to New Way where they will receive direct support and resources for success. This is a
wonderful opportunity for students to have their fist college-level experience with the support and guidance of New Way.
